Ares Management Corporation (“Ares” or “the Firm”) is looking for a professional to join our Talent Development team in Culver City (Los Angeles), Denver or New York. The employee engagement function is part of the broader global Human Resources team and actively supports our local communities where we do business through a portfolio of three programs:
Ares in Motion (“AIM”), the firm’s signature platform for employee engagement, volunteerism ad matching gifts
Corporate Contributions, which includes sponsorships and support of charitable causes
Talent development programs – with time this job will include talent development responsibilities in the performance management space
The Talent Development team seeks an Employee Engagement & Community Impact Associate Vice President/Senior Associate to manage global AIM programs, events and reporting. This individual will regularly evaluate the efficacy of the volunteer and employee engagement programs, manage global event logistics and evolve the programs’ positive societal impact. They will report to the Head of Talent Development and lead the portfolio of global employee engagement initiatives to support the Firm’s talent development, employee engagement and community impact goals.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in Corporate Social Responsibility, Talent Development, Philanthropy or a relevant field, strong event management skills, excellent (verbal and written) communication and influencing skills, and the highest degree of integrity and judgment. They will be detail-oriented, accuracy-focused, flexible and collaborative in approach, and possess a process-improvement mindset.

Primary functions and essential responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead, manage and enhance global employee engagement initiatives from end-to-end including planning, logistics, legalities, budget, timeline and scope while collaborating across appropriate internal teams to positively impact society and support Ares’ business strategies.
Track and report program and participation metrics including employee and community inputs, outputs, outcomes, and impacts of AIM initiatives including, but not limited to, employee skill development through volunteerism.
Draft internal communications, external social media posts, program recaps for internal and external audiences, and Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) awards submissions.
Manage and evolve the annual calendar of employee engagement opportunities and the Firm’s charitable matching program.
Lead global AIM Committees including monthly meeting logistics, agendas, and local delegation.
Identify and recommend potential collaboration opportunities across the firm’s Impact at Ares portfolios (DEI, ESG and Philanthropy) that help advance the firm’s commitment to an Inclusive & Equitable Economy and A Just Transition.
Develop strong internal relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders to align the AIM strategy with Ares’ business priorities and advance impact with senior-leader support. Increase global senior leadership participation in local employee engagement efforts.
Conduct presentations about AIM and the firm’s “Impact at Ares” strategy to large audiences.
Oversee the AIM Portal dashboard to track event registration, and participation metrics, process employee match requests, monthly invoices, and corporate sponsorship requests.
Heighten visibility for Ares and the firm’s involvement efforts to help increase the firm’s brand recognition and reputational standing in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors.
Eventual responsibilities in the Talent Development space including Performance Management responsibilities
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience required
Experience Required:
7+ years of experience in Human Resources: community impact/engagement, performance management, talent development, client engagement, preferably within a global organization, preferably from the Financial Services industry
Extensive collaboration with colleagues across multiple functions, including those in senior and executive leadership and across the globe
Proven record of mobilizing employees, understanding and supporting diverse populations to foster equity and inclusion through charitable activities
Proven record of expert relationship management of internal and external stakeholders
Experience managing events, projects and community impact programs, within a Human Resources function
Expertise in managing databases, quantitative and qualitative data collection and producing reports
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple and competing priorities with high attention to details
Ability to think critically and strategically toward future growth and manage day-to-day global program logistics
Relevant background and experience in Community Impact/Engagement, Talent Development, Philanthropy and Corporate Social Responsibility
General Requirements:
Strong Human Resources project and program management skills, including excellent (verbal and written) communication, planning and organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Proven ability to solve problems resourcefully and creatively with the flexibility to adapt to evolving situations
Ability to build and maintain dynamic and strategic internal and external stakeholder relationships
Dependable self-starter who can manage their workload and support the team by taking ad-hoc projects as required
Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge to utilize various technology and digital platforms
Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Understanding of nonprofit organizations, Philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, and employee engagement best practices
Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to confidently interact with professionals at all levels within an organization
Sound judgment and decision-making as well as the ability to handle confidential information appropriately
Ability to be flexible in terms of hours to coordinate with team members across various time zones

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$125,000-$170,000
