This position is an integral team member of the Finance Shared Services team and reports to the Finance Directorl, working alongside the Payroll Manager for EMEA & APAC, responsible for administering and processing payroll as part of a Global Payroll team. This role will work collaboratively and cross functionally with other team members in Accounting, Finance, and HR. Qualified candidates will have strong attention to detail and accuracy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As part of the Global Payroll team, you will be responsible for assisting in accurate and timely processing of 10+ payrolls across Europe and APAC, including accurate payout of employee compensation & benefit deductions and adhering to payroll calendar deadlines by country
Work closely and be a key point of contact with payroll providers, to ensure payroll is fully submitted and corrected on the system, also ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and filings for the different countries in which payroll is processed for.
Collaborate and partner with HR in order to have payroll processed accurately and timely, receiving all relevant information and submitting forms on the payroll platform, while ensuring compliance to payroll laws and regulations
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for payroll accounts; provide supporting documentation during month end close, such as calculating, validating, and recording payroll accruals, re-classes, and adjustments.
Assist Accounting and Tax teams with resolving Payroll Audit and Tax queries and reconciling payroll taxes and benefits payments.
Partner with HCM business analyst to research, recommend, test, and deploy system upgrades, business process improvements and/or fix identified issues and gaps
Approach payroll delivery with a continuous improvement mindset. Suggest/document process improvements, streamlining of payroll/timekeeping related processes, and recommend changes to improve transparency and efficiency of payroll for all employees.
Validate external contractor monthly costs and submit to system for processing payments & accruals
Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual headcount and payroll reports as well as meet ad hoc reporting requirements of the Global Payroll function
Assist in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting headcount analysis.
Be first line support for Payroll queries from managers & employees
To be considered successful, the ideal candidate must have
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant Payroll Processing experience and exposure required (including UK, ideally with multiple international locations across EMEA and/or APAC)
Knowledge of payroll accounting; journal entries and account reconciliations preferred
Experience in processing payroll / working with payroll software (Cloudpay) preferred
Strong vendor management experience
Ability to troubleshoot payroll processing issues, run and analyze reports
High level of initiative and want to be involved in documenting best practice and streamlining processes
Excellent communication skills - both internal and external
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient computer, organizational, analytical, research and problem-solving skills
Intermediate knowledge of Excel
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment even during times of ambiguity
Solid time management skills, ability to prioritize assignments in a dynamic work environment
Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new things
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, routinely working with HR and accounting, across borders and time zones
