Technical Project Lead at Chick-fil-A

Overview

The New Facilities IT Build Project Lead will be responsible for coordinating all IT efforts related to building new distribution and food production facilities. Areas of scope include network infrastructure, enterprise systems, end user devices, and more. Core responsibilities include project planning and coordination, procurement, implementation, and hand off to our day 2 support system. This role will also support the management of new facility requirements in partnership with our business partners, PMO, and our IT Team Members. Success in this role means new facilities and their technology are delivered timely and with a high level of care demonstrated throughout the process.

 

This will include collaborating with business stakeholders to define facility requirements for physical IT, systems, end user devices, etc... while translating those into technical requirements and an IT wide plan to support the build of those new facilities. This individual will then be responsible for managing the delivery of those project plans ensuring execution, budget adherence/tracking and risk mitigation for multiple, simultaneous projects. They will also be responsible for defining budgets for future facility builds.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to understand the technology needs of each new facility and translates them into technical requirements.
  • Defines and manages the scope, budget, timelines, and delivery of IT infrastructure and IT services stand-up for new CFA entities, including network, compute, cabling, and various end user compute services (e.g., IT devices, In field technologies, collaboration software, portal)
  • Coordinates across the IT organization to define new facility build plans and timelines with systems, infield technology and technology infrastructure teams and manages the delivery of those plans
  • Builds and manages project plans, timelines, and budgets, including anticipating and mitigating risks
  • Manages interactions with 3rd party service providers to ensure they are meeting service level agreements and performance metrics
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of key business processes, products and services and provides input and advice to key business stakeholders
  • Partners with Network engineers to translate the businesses Infrastructure requirements into technology solutions and to build budgets and plans to execute for each facility
  • Partners with Systems group to translate applications requirements into technology solutions and to build budgets and plans to execute for each facility
  • Coordinates activities across all stakeholders (internal and external) to communicate status and identify interdependencies, in terms of timelines, milestones and deliverables, and provide visibility to IT and business leadership
  • Conducts implementation evaluations to review effectiveness of change management and incorporate improvements to current procedures governing change
  • Builds and maintains a repeatable playbook ensuring a scalable, efficient, and consistent IT build approach for each new facility
  • Coordinates with both internal and 3rd party providers to resolve IT issues and risks that occur during the plan and build of new facilities (infield device configuration, network troubleshooting, system access, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills; a team player, yet able to work independently when necessary
  • Strong project management, financial management, supplier management, and stakeholder management experience
  • Ability to run multiple projects in various stages, simultaneously
  • Strong relationship building and management abilities
  • Experience adhering to strategic operational plans and translating them into actionable roadmaps
  • Desire for driving continuous improvement of policies, standards, and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or related businesses
  • Experience with interacting with General Contractors and other construction trades
  • Broad range of technology experience and expertise
  • Self-starter with excellent project management and organization skills
  • Routinely shows interest/knowledge in and offers suggestions / solutions for continuous improvement
  • Exceptional problem solving and communication skills, detail oriented, creative, and strong organizational skills
  • Able to anticipate needs, lead multiple projects, and manage shifting priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading and interacting with managed services
  • Experience with modern technologies, including cloud, virtual networks/systems
  • Experience managing end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure transformation programs
