Pennefather Court, Aylesbury

 

£12.25 effective from 1 April 2024

 

37.5 hours per week

We’re seeking someone who values kindness and patience to join our dedicated team as a Care and Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our customers at Pennefather Court. We are a small residential home close to the centre of Aylesbury providing care and support for 14 adults with physical and learning disabilities. 

 

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing a high quality, personalised care and support service
  • Delivering expert support to customers including the sensitive delivery of personal care and managing medication
  • Encouraging customers to lead fulfilling lives by building positive relationships and developing hobbies and interests
  • Managing nutrition and hydration needs
  • Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Personalised approach, ideally with experience within a similar, care related role
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organisational skills, as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Good communication skills, allowing you to build relationships with customers
  • Ability to react quickly to changing priorities whilst working to deadlines and targets
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or willing to work towards is essential
