Multi-Trade Operative

 

Salisbury – covering mainly Dorset as well as other areas when required

 

£32,406 - £34,111 per year

 

40 hours per week

 

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operatives to join our Operations Response team based in the South West. Covering sites across Dorset you will be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs to occupied properties including but not limited to fixing leaking tap, replacing baths, changing a door handle and hanging new doors. The team also carry out external repairs including fencing and groundworks and you will also be required to be on an emergency call out rota. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use along with a full training plan. 

 

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

  • Attending properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties within social housing
  • Resolving problems or setting into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking these when needed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
  • Providing out of hours cover via a call out rota

 

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS), currently undertaking the qualification or prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group.
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role within social housing is advantageous
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • Additional skills in some of the following disciplines – plumbing, carpentry, bricklaying and roofing desirable
  • Working knowledge of the health and safety regulations
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

 

As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications.  Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
