Job Purpose
You will foster continuous improvement principles and process technology improvements for production processes, procedures and ways of working at our state of the art manufacturing facility in Ashington. This will involve delivering specific engineering projects and supporting site employees to deliver continuous improvement (CI) events.
Job Responsibilities
• Engage site team & deploy CI methodologies to improve HSE&S, Sustainability & Quality standards.
• Identify areas of significant improvement & develop plans to realise the benefits.
• Inspire & challenge colleagues to never be satisfied with current performance & support them to make small continuous steps forward.
• Ensures transfer of best practice in and knowledge transfer out to the wider AkzoNobel network.
• Investigate root cause of process failures & develop solutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to drive a lean continuous improvement programme.
• Keep aware of new developments within & outside the business.
• Contribute to the business process for new product introduction.
Job Requirements
• Six Sigma – Green or Black Belt Certification.
• Experience in chemical or mechanical construction project engineering.
• Project management experience.
• Familiarity with the codes and standards regulating the chemical process industry.
• Working knowledge of HAZOP, Risk Assessment, Audit, HSE plans.

• Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
