Job Purpose
Primarily working within the Cellulosic Fire Protection product development team, you will work on prioritised projects to help develop next-generation products through screening various technology platforms and building a fundamental understanding of fire test behaviour and key standards, and environmental weathering testing and standards.
Job Responsibilities
• Uses best practice/past solutions to carry-out, evaluate & interpret experiments. Under direction from manager conducts adhoc and industry recognized testing to evaluate prototype formulations
• Prepare and carry out small scale paint manufacture, QA, testing & hand application.
• Assist with scale up manufacture; RM stock keeping, pre-batching & filling and QC
• Manage the planning & day to day requirements for assigned projects/support activities.
• Collate results & produce reports
• Make recommendations for next steps & communicate key results to colleagues in weekly/biweekly meetings
• Conduct, participate & evaluate trials/inspections.
• Work safely & comply with legal & company regulations.
Job Requirements
• Secondary education & 6 BCF Level 3, NACE 1, City & Guilds equivalent.
• Experience working in a busy laboratory.
• Competent in practical coatings skills, e.g. coatings manufacture, QA, testing & application.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
