National Grid is seeking an Experienced Engineer for our Integrated Planning and Solutions division in Albany, NY

Job Purpose

To lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives of the enterprise wide electricity distribution and transmission.

Key Accountabilities

· Participate in the development, implementation and management of new technologies or automation of existing technologies.

· Engage appropriately as a with specified stakeholders, government agencies, consenting authorities and media within the development phases of a project.

· Input to the development of the engineering perspective of new business concepts.

· Complete the definition of technical specifications in relation to a range of technologies.

· Determine the options to be considered for the project at initiation to satisfy the need case for investment.

· Ensure that a robust basis of design is produced for each scheme which documents the reasons for the investment, the options considered, costs and program.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

· Able to motivate, counsel, coach, and develop direct reports and others.

· Experience establishing clearly defined goals and standards of employee performance.

Qualifications

· A Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or science is required

· Advanced degree, Professional License (PE) or certification is a plus

Salary

$90,000 - $106,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
