About the role

 

National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) is at the heart of energy in the UK. The electricity we provide gets the nation to work, powers schools and brings energy to life. Our energy network connects the nation, so it’s essential that it’s continually evolving, advancing, and improving.


As Reporting Analyst you’ll support the Value Optimisation team within our Network Operations and Intelligence department. It’s a new team, introduced to provide insights and facilitate effective collaboration between the departments within NGET. It’s an exciting and ambitious team, where you’ll understand how the whole business is running and performing, working with a variety of colleagues across all departments.


You’ll work as a team to provide a holistic view of NGET’s performance, providing change controls, governance risk and prioritisation. We want to grow our forecasting abilities and make use of AI in what we do. Using Excel, VBA and Power BI to report on various parts of the end-to-end planning process you’ll provide business support, insight and assurance to National Grid staff and leadership on core business processes. 


Developing, producing and delivering regular and one-off management information, you’ll liaise with the business to define success metrics and criteria. You’ll also conduct complex data analysis bringing together data from a vast landscape of systems. 


This role is based out of our offices in Warwick, for 1 day per week and can be combined with hybrid working from home.

 


 

What you'll need

 

With expert level knowledge in VBA, EXCEL and POWER BI, you’ll have the ability to present data and information with a clear, compelling narrative.

 

Highly organised, with good project and time management skills, you’ll have experience of communicating with multiple stakeholders both written and verbally and possess good stakeholder management skills.

 

An understanding of how the NGET business operates and the utility regulatory environment, a background in the energy sector would be advantageous.

 

The ability to prioritise work with minimal supervision, coupled with numeracy and computer literacy skills are essential.
