Position Location:  Carmel, IN;  Eagan, MN;   or Little Rock, AR

As our Resource Adequacy Planning Engineer (I, II), you'll conduct studies for Resource Adequacy and Planning Reserve Auctions, such as Loss of Load Expectation (LOLE) studies, Seasonal Accredited Capacity (SAC), and Seasonal Resource Assessments. You'll communicate findings internally and to relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance with resource adequacy processes assigned to you.

 

In one year as our Resource Adequacy Planning Engineer (I, II), you will know you were successful if you:

  • Perform studies utilizing Astrapé SERVM and PowerGEM TARA to bolster resource adequacy, adhering to established processes while identifying opportunities for process enhancement.
  • Employ MISO’s Module E Capacity Tracking (MECT) tool to reinforce MISO’s Resource Adequacy efforts. 
  • Effectively collaborate with Market Operations, Market Design, Settlements, and other departments to ensure cohesive support for resource adequacy initiatives.
  • Deliver presentations of study outcomes at stakeholder meetings and address both internal and external stakeholder inquiries.

 

We are looking for talented professionals who have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering technology, electrical and computer engineering, electrical and electronic engineering or electronics and computer engineering technology.

 

While not required, it would be advantageous if you have any of the following:

  • Specific experience with any of the following: GADs, LOLE studies, probabilistic assessment, or transmission planning
  • Previous resource adequacy, transmission planning, or RTO experience.

 

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
