Motorway is the UK’s fastest-growing used car marketplace – our award-winning, online-only platform connects private car sellers with thousands of verified dealers nationwide, ensuring everyone gets the best deal. Founded in 2017, our technology-led approach has redefined the experience of selling a car, generating thousands of monthly car sales and helping us to grow to a team of more than 400 people across our London and Brighton offices.
Motorway is now valued at over $1 billion and is backed by some of the world’s leading technology investors, having raised £143 million in Series C funding. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing scale-up at a crucial phase of growth and help change an industry for the better.
The role
The Management Accountant will be responsible for producing accurate and timely management reporting, whilst ensuring comprehensive analysis and support to key stakeholders across Operational Finance and FP&A. The role also includes responsibility for key accounting and tax compliance, including VAT returns and liaising directly with our external auditors, along with assisting with ongoing process and systems improvements as the business continues to scale and evolve.
Given the fast paced and dynamic nature of Motorway, this role requires a self-starter with strong skills in prioritisation, communication and cross-functional stakeholder management.
This role will report directly to our Head of Operational Finance.
We are keen to hear from qualified finance professionals (or equivalent) - or soon to be qualified - who are making a first move from practice and feel ready for a varied role within a forward thinking business. Alternatively those who have relevant industry experience working within a finance function to date within a management accounting capacity would also be relevant here. Backgrounds from all sectors and industries will be considered for the role.
