Job Description

The Digital Partnerships team is responsible for Visa’s relationships with the largest technology companies and platforms in the world.  The team identifies, structures, and closes deals to pursue opportunities with these critical companies. The Digital Partnerships team works closely with Visa’s Product and Solutions teams (functions and services) to identify and pursue new Issuing & Acquiring clients, service providers and ecosystem participants in the European payment ecosystem.

The Director, Digital Partnerships will be responsible for driving Visa’s digital, innovation and business agenda in Europe with a major global technology partner across their 1P and 3P assets, as well as other named partners to be determined. The role requires an experienced payment professional with proven people leadership skills, able to develop and manage client relationships as well as developing and executing a partnership strategy to achieve Visa commercial objectives.

  • Commercial management:
    • Lead account strategy in Europe and engage wider Visa organisation to put in place plans to deliver.
    • Identify, structure and execute deals in (Europe and globally).
    • Analyse performance of named digital accounts and cooperate with respective Visa and client teams to identify and secure improvements to performance.
    • Drive sales opportunities across consumer solutions, value-added services (VAS) and commercial and money movement solutions (CMS).
  • Relationship management:
    • Develop senior relationships across the client organization to influence client’s strategy.
    • Engage Visa regional leadership to achieve support for named merchants in given markets.
    • Serve as an expert to coordinate technical and operational teams on projects supporting Visa agenda with Digital Partners and drive digital partnership strategic initiatives. (e.g. Tokenization, Click to Pay, Open Banking/Tink, PSD2/3, Visa Direct, and other VAS and CMS opportunities).
  • Account management and communication:
    • Work across the organization to gain support for and enable new initiatives and solutions that can be first in Visa Europe or globally.
    • Work closely with the global team to develop and execute global account plans with focus on driving key strategic initiatives.
    • Act as Visa EU ambassador for named merchants – support in-market resources engagement with Visa clients, maintain close relationship with local teams to achieve alignment and engagement with the local Visa organisations.
  • This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven leader in the payment sector with in-depth knowledge of digital payments
  • Senior level work experience in product, account management or sales
  • Equally comfortable developing long-term strategy or executing against short-term objectives
  • Commercially focused with understanding of key player requirements in the payment ecosystem
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills to manage senior level internal and external stakeholders. Strong presentation skills a must.
  • Team player with a record of leading cross-functional teams towards customer objectives
  • Positive, self-motivated, and proactive, with curiosity to learn and develop new skills
