Job Description

The Role

Gemserv is constantly looking ahead to ensure we deliver exceptional service in a rapidly changing world. We are committed to supporting the industry as it looks to deliver Net Zero. Our team has recently expanded to cover the French market. We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Senior Consultant (Hydrogen) to sit within the Hydrogen Team in the UK and be the liaison point for the team in France. The successful candidate will work with the team behind Hydrogen UK, the UK’s leading hydrogen association, and leverage the consultancy credentials in the UK to help drive hydrogen consultancy activity in France.

The role requires the candidate to have a broad knowledge and understanding of hydrogen technologies and applications and be fluent in English and French. 

Helping to build Gemserv’s hydrogen consultancy offering in the UK and France, working with a team of talented consultants, economists, and analysts to support the hydrogen sector as it looks to scale and help deliver Net Zero.

The Senior Consultant role requires the candidate to have a broad understanding of hydrogen production technologies as well as it's applications. An understanding of the debate around hydrogen and the role that the energy sector could play in meeting net zero will also be important. Fluency in French and English is also a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop Gemserv’s hydrogen consultancy offering in France.
• Supporting the development and delivery of consultancy projects in the UK and France; delivering on time and to budget.
• Taking ownership of the delivery of contracted consultancy projects, managing teams of consultants and analysts to deliver.
• Building network in France, attending events, representing Gemserv in industry groups.
• Working closely with the hydrogen team in the UK and low carbon team in France and other Gemserv consultants.
• Speaking at public events to promote Gemserv hydrogen products and services

Qualifications

Requirements

Ideally for this role, we are looking for candidates to have an interest in, or exposure to, the UK and/or French hydrogen industry with direct experience in delivering consultancy projects in this sector.

Successful candidates will have the following experience:

• Track record of delivering consultancy or projects in the hydrogen or adjacent sector (e.g. energy, O&G).
• Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and numerical, and the ability to develop constructive relationships with clients.
• Willingness to take accountability and responsibility for projects.
• Strong presentation skills, including speaking at external events.
• Experience in actively supporting colleagues to achieve their goals.

Fluency in French and English

Location: London or Birmingham Office
