Your Team
You will join our Fleet team, working at the critical intersection of autonomy software and vehicle platform integration. As part of this team, you'll be designing, testing and delivering hardware that will unlock the benefits of autonomy to our custimers.

Your Role

  • To specify and design concepts for mounting mechanical components, mounts and assemblies,ensuring the final installations are robust and fit for deployment environments of autonomous vehicles
  • To deliver complex, electro-mechanical assemblies from concept to low volume production
  • To liaise closely with various teams to identify integration and design requirements. With a focus on functionality, reliability, DFM / DFA
  • Produce assembly drawings and detail drawings specifying materials, tolerances and assembly notes for outsourcing
  • To produce bills of materials specifying components and potential suppliers
  • To support vendor selection to provide cost effective manufactured parts
  • Provide assistance with the build process

Requirements

What you need to succeed:

  • Mechanical design experience with Solidworks, or an equivalent CAD package.
  • Hands-on Prototyping experience 
  • Production of drawing packs for manufacture
  • Static loadcase analysis, fatigue simulation, frequency/vibration simulation

Extra kudos:

  • Automotive OEM or Tier1 supplier or similar industry proven design experience
  • Experience of designing, developing and deploying mechanical systems from a prototype concept through to a robust integrated on-vehicle solution.
  • Worked with Product Lifecycle Management software
  • Worked in a collaborative environment with members from different backgrounds
