Singulier is looking for an experienced Product and Tech expert to lead our new Product & Tech practice.   This is a rare opportunity to use your Product and Tech skills in a leadership role to rapidly scale a profitable company with direct exposure to shareholders and top executives.

Singulier provides strategic and transformation support for private equity/investment funds and established companies. We collaborate with our clients to establish task forces that can perform strategic digital operations resulting in rapid and sustainable impact. We create meaningful value by leveraging our deep expertise in digital, data, and technology to serve forward-thinking ventures.  Digital expertise is at the heart of Singulier's value proposition, and we currently have 4 practices that house our expertise - Media and Marketing, Tech & Data, Customer Strategy, and Strategy.  
 
Our diverse team of approximately 80 professionals based in London, Paris & Munich  is divided into two groups: technical experts (including data engineers, digital media experts, and UX experts), and digital strategy consultants.    Our members are graduates of the best business and engineering schools and possess extensive experience in the field.  Founded in 2017, we have grown rapidly and are currently expanding to Germany.  
 
 

What You’ll Do 

This role will develop and lead our Product and Tech expert practice, defining a Product & Tech offer that will help us rapidly and significantly grow our business, in particular with B2B SaaS companies.  

The new Product and Tech practice will leverage existing Product & Tech experts to build our offering and grow our coverage of the B2B market.    As the leader of this practice, you will report directly to the CEO and co-founder of the Group and lead the practice across all Singulier markets.  

NOTE: In the short run, this role will also oversee Singulier’s tech work, but we expect to spin this out as an independent practice in time.   Applicants should have familiarity with both Product & Tech, but the primary focus is on Product expertise   

This role sits on the Group Leadership team and participates in the development of the Group strategy.    

Key responsibilities  

Design, support sale of, and deliver Singulier’s Product & Tech strategy and offering 

• Develop and maintain Singulier’s Product & Tech strategy and vision, including developing its current and future offer, incorporating best practices and emerging trends  
• Advise clients (including both investors and corporate C-suite)  
• Design and continuously improve a Product & Tech consulting offering to generate value for our clients, growing over time based on external trends and innovations as well as client needs   
• Deliver the most complex & innovative Product & Tech consulting projects (incl. Product & Tech due diligences); ensure that strategy consulting teams have capabilities to deliver other Product projects  
• Collaborate with Partners on business development, including developing proposals and pitching 
• Collaborate with other practices to ensure our Product & Tech offering complements their work to offer clients a holistic view 
• Advise teams by troubleshooting ongoing Product & Tech consulting projects 
• Setup task forces to execute and temporarily deliver to prove the value creation potential 

Build, lead and grow team to scale  

• Directly lead and inspire a small team of Product & Tech experts and provide product functional leadership to a pool of strategy consultants   
• Identify capabilities required to deliver Product & Tech consulting projects, and ensure Singulier has the capability required to deliver 
• Facilitate and structure knowledge sharing, training and development within the team and the wider business, focused on knowledge and skills to deliver on projects 
• Broadcast broader understanding of emerging Product & Tech trends and technologies to extend the thinking and the skills of the practice 

Develop the reach & relevance of the practice to scale 

• Build external awareness of our Product & Tech work and your own brand as a Product & Tech expert  
• Promote the practice work and thinking at relevant Product & Tech and private equity events and networks to positively position our work to the benefit of our awareness on the market.   
• Build / grow an external presence to support Singulier marketing efforts  

• Conduct ongoing knowledge share of our latest offers, projects and tech market trends 
• Scan the horizon for Product innovations and ensure these are regularly introduced to Singulier   

Provide Technical Leadership to Singulier’s broader tech & data units 

• Coordinate with CTOs of Singulier tech business units (Holis & Graphite) to ensure a coherent group-wide tech & data strategy, and complementarity of offerings  
• Work with CTOs of Holis & Graphite and the People team to ensure a clear and attractive  value proposition for technical talent at Singulier  

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:  

• Bachelor's Degree; MBA highly preferred  
• At least 10 years’ experience in either a Product & Tech consulting role, or an in-house Product  & Tech role, including direct experience building a Product or advising on the Product development process in a B2B context  
• Experience working with C-suite executives (e.g. CPOs, CTOs, CEOs)  in multiple companies 
• Deep knowledge of Product & Tech trends and good practices 
• Strong business acumen  
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills  
• Strong leadership & team management skills   
• Excellent spirit of collaboration and teamwork  
• Ability to analyse complex data and make informed decisions. 
• Entrepreneurial spirit and initiative with a great capacity to work in a team. 
• Fluent in English  
• Must be available to come to the office in London or Paris at least 3 days per week  

Recommended Skills and Experience:  

• Proven experience in Product strategy consulting    
• In-depth knowledge of SaaS products & market trends  
• Experience working with D2C companies to select relevant software 
• Experience leading Product & Tech due diligences  
• Experience developing a corporate IT strategy and transformation plan (e.g. ERP , IT infrastructure, cybersecuirty, IT team structure)   
• Ability to do a code review  
• French language skills highly preferred 
• An international background and the ability to grow and be successful in multicultural
