About the role
Join our Health and Safety team in our Brighton Branch covering our Brighton and Eastbourne sites. As a Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you'll lead initiatives, ensure compliance with legislation and create a safe working environment.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Health and Safety strategy.
- Manage the H&S administrator and coordinate stakeholders with a people-centric approach, emphasizing Performance and Culture.
- Lead the Health and Safety Forum focusing on engagement and department collaboration.
- Conduct risk assessments, implement controls and improvements and establish safe work systems.
- Investigate incidents, identifying causes and providing actionable advice
- Stay updated on legislation and industry standards.
- Complete regular site inspections/audits to ensure policy adherence and safe practices and retain records of these.
- Lead in-house training and provide guidance on health and safety for managers and employees.
- Create and provide reports on areas for continual improvement.
- Provide advice on specialist areas such as fire regulations, first aid, hazardous substances, machinery and more.
- Outline safe operational procedures, considering business hazards, and guidance on safe use and installation of machinery/equipment .
What are we looking for?
- Assertive people-centric communication, with a pro-active approach to projects, and building relationships across the business.
- Qualified to NEBOSH Certificate, ideally with experience in manufacturing, logistics or similar industries
