As a Category Supplier Manager, you will be responsible for developing a category strategy for managed categories, validating strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and the respective internal partners and stakeholders. You will be conducting strategic sourcing initiatives, planning and executing negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmarking, and cost management. Through management of the category strategy, you will also be building trusted partnerships with internal stakeholders, driving best-in-class cost, supply, and resilience.
Responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment, and services. Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities. Acquires and maintains technical understanding of products purchased. Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. As required, monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure the best quality at the best value. May recommend cost-saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Site Supplier Performance and Relationships
Own procurement process for designated areas and accounts
Negotiate with suppliers to meet business needs
Support capital budgeting and cash flow management, and the execution of Global Procurement strategies
Handle cost-saving initiatives and metrics
Implement cost savings and process improvement programs
Have deep knowledge to serve as a consultant for procurement process and supplier issues.
Support site audits
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or similar field of study
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with an ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of internal partners, team members, and suppliers.
Preference for experience in similar roles
