Role - Delivery and Services Manager
Are you passionate about technology capabilities and services that enable frictionless data experiences?
Do you enjoy driving implementation through delivery excellence?
About our Team
The Enterprise Data Platforms and Services (EDPS) team are a central technology group responsible for building, administering, governing, and setting global standards for a growing number of Elsevier strategic data platforms and services. The capabilities we are responsible for enable data to be collected, accessed, processed and integrated across a wide range of digital business solutions, used by functions including billing and order management, customer and product master data management, and business analytics and insights delivery. Due to our footprint across the enterprise, we are relied upon to ensure our systems are trusted, reliable and available. The technology underpinning these capabilities includes industry leading data and analytics products such as Snowflake, Tableau, Collibra, Kafka, Airflow, and Kubernetes.
This group has been created recently as part of a longer-term strategic direction to implement Data Mesh, and with it establish shared platforms that enables a connected collection of enterprise-ready time saving services. Our mission is to enable frictionless experiences for all Elsevier colleagues, so that they can openly and securely consume and produce trustworthy data, enhancing everyday colleague and customer interactions and decisions.
About the Role
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Delivery, Service and Process professional to lead partnerships with our engineering teams, senior business leaders, and product managers. In this high-profile role you will help understand user requirements and map diverse user interactions with various data platform components to aid design and implementation decisions for self-service components. You will be expected to be the single point of contact for delivery process related items, as such will provide representation at various data and analytics forums that are attended by heads of departments.
You will work closely with technology squads to define and govern their delivery, value articulation, communication, and prioritisation frameworks. Given the various Elsevier platform initiatives, you will be responsible for compiling an aggregated roadmap view to ensure alignment and promote collaboration. Your success will be measured by demonstrable continuous improvement in business service review surveys, in areas such as Prioritisation, Communication, Team Efficiency, and Delivery Process clarity. We aim to show progress in user satisfaction scores, trusted partner scores, and areas of the agile capability maturity model. Importantly, you should also be able to demonstrate increased adoption and re-use of the services we provision, serving as a measure of increased efficiencies by our teams. In doing so you will partner closely with our Platform Product Management team, and the Process Excellence and Digital Adoption team.
