What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is currently supporting the Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women, who provides federal leadership in developing the national capacity to reduce violence against women and administer justice for and strengthen services to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Guidehouse's support is within the scope of Operational Management and we are seeking skilled Special Projects Coordinators to work directly with executive level leadership. The person in this role will perform duties within the following areas:
Attend meetings with Principal Deputy Director (PDD) and take detailed notes for reference and potential dissemination to OVW staff and DOJ leadership, as well as refine notes into topline takeaways
Take any needed actions after meetings, such as providing follow-up information
Coordinate and manage PDD schedule, including by scheduling meetings as well as looking several weeks ahead to avoid double- and/or over-booking and providing materials in preparation
Manage travel for senior leadership, to include arranging motor pool and other transportation
Answer and manage emails and calls for shared inboxes or phone lines
Communicate within OVW, including distributing emails to all OVW staff, as well as with other DOJ offices
Serve as liaison with external stakeholders and federal partners
Assist with preparing briefing materials for OVW and DOJ leadership
Prepare and revise written materials on behalf of senior leadership
Review for clarity and copy-edit a variety of documents
Assist with gathering, evaluating, and compiling a variety of data – including by editing and revising charts – for Congressional reports, budget submissions, and other projects
Collaborate on special projects with OVW Administration and Program Divisions
Organize, manage, and assist with facilitation of internal working groups
Research legal and policy issues with short turn-around times, including by coordinating with resource centers, DOJ library, OVW technical assistance providers, and researchers
Follow up with OVW staff to ensure completion of projects
Create organizational systems to ensure the front office functions effectively
Maintain absolute confidentiality about sensitive DOJ policy, programmatic, and administrative issues
What You Will Need:
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust, MUST upgrade to a SECRET federal security clearance
Bachelors degree
Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience
What Would Be Nice To Have:
An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance
High proficiency in (preferred previous professional use of) Microsoft suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Proactive planning and scheduling instinct
Extremely detail-oriented
Exceptional note-taking ability
Written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and with others, including strong relationship-building skills
