We are currently seeking a Global Distribution Sales Manager (GDSM). The GDSM will focus on managing and optimizing product distribution within our global sales network. Responsibilities include coordinating with distribution channels, developing strategies for efficient product placement, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely deliveries.
The Global Distribution Sales Manager will report to the VP of Sales and Marketing. As the GDSM, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks related to the distribution process. This role will be responsible but not limited to the following:
Developing and implementing the distribution plan, budget, and schedule in alignment with sales objectives and customer needs
Manage relationships with distributors, partners, and vendors
Negotiating contracts
Ensuring compliance with quality standards
Communication and collaboration with the sales team, the marketing team, the operations team, and other internal and external stakeholders to provide feedback, support, and guidance on distribution activities
Tracking and reporting on distribution metrics such as volume, revenue, costs, inventory, delivery time, and customer satisfaction
Proficient market research and analysis ti identify best distribution channels, markets, and segments as well as evaluate the competitive landscape and customer preferences
Troubleshooting any issues or challenges that affect the distribution process such as delays, damages, shortages or complaints is essential. Corrective and preventive actions should be implemented when necessary
This position requires international and domestic travel
Specific Knowledge & Skills
5+ years of experience in sales to or within distribution channels
Bachelors Degree is preferred
Strong knowledge of the distribution principles, practices, and techniques
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential for building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with various parties
Analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills are required to monitor and evaluate the distribution performance, as well as address any issues or opportunities
Organizational, project management, and time management skills
Proficiency in using common software applications such as Google and Microsoft Office
Specific tools and systems related to the distribution function
Proficient knowledge of security and/or building automation products
Experience with selling enterprise solutions
Effective understanding and experience with the corporate culture, environment, and decision processes
Strong verbal and written communication skills
