This opening is in Motorola Solutions’ North East Post Sale Engineering Department. The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.
Job Description
Note: This is a remote position with travel (25-50%) to support projects.The candidate MUST reside in or be open to relocation to Florida.
The Post Sales Systems Engineer:
Designs ASTRO 25 Public Safety LMR systems consistent with customer and regulatory requirements and supports Pre-Sales Engineering and Service organizations.
Oversees third party systems integration including logging, CAD, FSA, Microwave WAN transport and video solutions and cloud based solutions.
Is responsible for preliminary and as sold design review, equipment list generation, customer design review presentation, ordering, staging, installation, factory and field ATP testing and system documentation
Configures systems using transport tools, zone core applications, subscriber code plugs, fleet mapping and backend applications.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be able to perform the Engineer of Record role on mid sized projects autonomously.
Public safety radio network projects are multi-faceted requiring a wide range of technical skillsets including, but not limited to, coverage and capacity design, microwave system analysis, RF LMR system and BDA design, WAN network design, and knowledge of Motorola ASTRO systems.
The position involves a high level of customer and consultant interaction involving customer design reviews, customer witnessed staging and acceptance testing events, coverage acceptance testing, live system upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts.
The position requires high level of commitment and accountability to project and customer demands as well as ownership of technical solutions, problem solving and project timelines.
The successful candidate will work closely with Project Management teams, Engineering teams and the customer to ensure successful project execution.

Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline and 1 year of engineering or technical experience
OR 3 years of engineering or technical experience
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
