Scripps News in Atlanta is hiring a Segment Producer. As a Segment Producer you'll develop, pitch and produce creative content and display an in-depth understanding of producing high-end content for live news.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Pitch, develop and write content relating to the latest national and international news
Responsible for delivering quick-turn, high-priority guest and reporter segments while executing consistently high-quality production value under tight deadlines
Write scripts and work with executive and senior producers to improve and refine the elements of segments to ensure team and network standards are met
Works closely with talent, editors and/or producers to organize elements including packages, graphics, video and sound
Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor's degree in related position or equivalent years of experience preferred
Generally, 3+years of experience in television news as a line producer or segment producer
Experience pitching and producing live reporter and guest segments
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Must be proficient in writing and producing for live television news
Ability to cultivate and pitch story ideas and guests
Strong ability to oversee and coordinate all creative elements to support live segments
Solid experience identifying strong visuals
Must have solid social media experience
Strong leadership skills to interface with co-workers and our diverse community
Must be able to communicate and meet daily deadlines
Proven time management skills
