ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Adhere to all relevant safety and quality policies and procedures set forth by the company
  • Responsible for cycle time studies, peak cycle time reduction, and line balance optimization of production lines
  • Implement and maintain kanban system for inventory flow control at part washers
  • Optimize raw material flow to production lines to reduce/eliminate unnecessary handling
  • Support creation and improvement of standard work instructions for the production department, and coordinate with training coordinator for implementation at floor-level
  • Analyze production data, especially regarding OEE losses, to identify trends and areas for improvement/focus
  • Work within a cross-functional support team to execute projects in alignment with the essential functions outlined above, and perform cost-benefit analysis to justify expenses
  • Utilize headcount and capacity data to manage labor forecasting/budgeting for the production department
  • Follow all other department processes and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering field required, preferably industrial
  • Must be safety-oriented and very detail-oriented
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Above average computer skills
  • Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • 2+ years of prior manufacturing experience required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.  The employee occasionally is required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in a hybrid office/manufacturing environment.  The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, and the noise level in the work environment is typically loud, especially within the machining section. The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing floor where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
