As World Vision International’s Senior Director of Total Rewards, you will provide strategic leadership, and technical subject matter expertise to deliver competitive, equitable, and timely rewards to support the organisation in hiring, engaging, and retaining a diverse, mission-driven, and high-performing global workforce. As a member of the P&C Senior Leadership Team, you will lead and support the development and well-being of employees, managing four functions including compensation, benefits, mobility and payroll. Your total rewards team will develop and deliver programs through close partnership with the P&C Operational Effectiveness team as well as Global Business Partners and Talent Acquisition, along with Regional P&C Directors and VisionFund International P&C leaders. Key programs include benefits, remuneration, executive compensation, job architecture and evaluation processes, salary structures, global mobility opportunities, and US and global mobility payroll.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership, Planning & Execution
Lead the strategy, implementation, and ongoing management of the Total Rewards function
Provide leadership on the global strategic priorities, establish operational plans and execution to ensure strategic alignment, clarity, decision rights and focus in Total Rewards.
Develop the Total Rewards Centre of Expertise using proactive and innovative approaches to ensure that our various rewards programs are competitive, support business results, are aligned with our culture, provide efficient delivery including self-service processes, and are understood and valued by our employees.
Evolve WV's comprehensive strategy for Total Rewards using compelling and equitable compensation and benefits programs aimed at attracting and retaining 'best in class' talent in a competitive not-for-profit environment and across multiple markets and extremely diverse locations.
Provide strategic direction, planning, and requirements to execute the design, implementation, communication, and efficient administration of WV's various programs.
Stewardship, Leadership & Management
Lead, manage and develop a highly proficient global Total Rewards (TR) team of subject matter experts in global compensation, benefits, mobility, and payroll.
Develop a local culture aligned with our core values, mindsets and behaviours
Identify, hire, retain and grow talent within the TR Team
Drive professional development, build TR professional capability, capacity and connection with customers and key stakeholders
Manage the Total Rewards budget, both at a functional level, as well as at a Partnership level for global remits. Ensure good stewardship, planning, reforecasting and budget process. Build and foster a positive relationship with Finance Business Partners, and Procurement
Lead, guide, and support managing the unique issues that develop across the Global Mobility and Payroll landscapes.
Maintain competitiveness while considering internal equity perceptions and realities, especially as the world moves towards more remote working environments mixed with increased financial volatility, conflict, and hardship situations.
Maximise ROI, employee engagement, well-being and development, talent attraction and retention, and WV strategic outcomes.
Ensure that total rewards for our international staff are aligned with the markets in which we operate and recognise the various rewards demands and challenges of rare specialist talent, and top-tier leadership amidst regular employees facing similar local environment challenges.
Ensure alignment with competitive markets and stay abreast of changes in global employment practices in designing tiered international assignee programs including expatriation, relocation, short-term secondments, repatriation, and local hiring of third-country nationals.
Maintain on-time and globally compliant delivery of payroll to all US and International Assignee employees including strong coordination with finance partners for accurate and timely journal entries for global management of the general ledger for the organisation.
Project Management & Global Oneness
Lead and step in where needed to take on and support program and process management across the partnership in line with Ministry need e.g. recruitment lag coverage, coverage for extended leave of absence, or support team and P&C service provision as a whole.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, or other related business fields.
15+ years of relevant work experience in Compensation, Benefits and/or Total Rewards or HR Operations and significant people leadership experience in a complex, multinational organisation
Strong leadership skills and team management capabilities. Proven people leader, coach and mentor, coupled with experience in indirect and virtual leadership
Resilient, self-driven and goal-oriented professional with a strong people management orientation
A history of successful interaction, influence and collaboration with all levels of stakeholders, including outstanding customer service orientation both with employees and across P&C (in particular with P&C Business Partner and Talent Acquisition teams)
Must be both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor who is passionate about how compensation and benefits directly impact the employee experience - ability to translate strategic imperatives into tangible and relevant local outcomes
Consultative approach - can effectively solicit feedback on all aspects of total rewards and adapt changes when needed
Strong business acumen and demonstrated capacity to work as a business/ministry partner with a diverse senior group
Sound understanding of contemporary HR practice and experience in successfully implementing HR policies and initiatives in complex settings
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (e.g. spoken and written)
Proven leadership skills and team management capabilities
Clear and positive Christian faith commitment and capacity to provide leadership and guidance in this area
Fluency in English - written and spoken
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally 10-20% of the time.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications
Global general HR Certification desirable (e.g. SHRM, CIPD)
Bias for action and capacity to deliver efficiently and effectively
Problem-solving skills and capacity to deliver under pressure; pragmatism; persistence
Strong demonstrable reserves of motivation and energy to embrace new challenges and craft impactful and sustained interventions in innovative ways
Spanish, French or Portuguese language skills are a plus
If the position is filled in the United States, the typical salary range for this role is $141,000 to $176,000 USD. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity, and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
