JOB PURPOSE
• Grow Break Bulk & OOG and BB volumes exported from UK to worldwide destinations.
• Take ownership of a defined portfolio of customers in this sector, whilst pursuing new business opportiunities to grown and develop our business in this specialised area.
• Work closely with wider Sales team(s) including Head Office, to ensure our pricing and offering remains competitive across all trades.
• Take the lead with operational teams to ensure service delivery in line with customer requirements.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES | WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
• To grow CMA CGM export volumes in the BB / OOG sector with focus on a defined list of customers.
• To provide tangible benefits (growth of profitable business) to the agency and line through close relationship building with multi levels of customer.
• Produce monthly report highlighting progress and challenges in the BB /OOG market across all trades.
• Lead and shape freight rate negotiations with HO pricing teams to ensure competitive pricing in line with market expectations.
• To implement and take ownership of a Standard Operating Procedure for BB / OOG bookings.
• To produce and distribute equipment availability data to key customers to encourage use of special equipment. To drive a culture of dynamic equipment management.
• Analyse statistics and notify trends on lift/cargo mix/revenue to local management and HO where appropriate
• Regular (target of six) quality face to face sales calls / meetings per week, with a focus on new business development and retaining existing business
• Organise and develop target account strategy, to identify and pursue new business opportunities
• To maintain a complete knowledge of the services and facilities offered by CMA CGM, ensuring offerings to new and existing cusotmers are attractive relevant and meet their requirements.
• Weekly de-brief with Inside Sales Team providing market feedback and direct customer requirements
• Prepare and present customer and budget performance to the quarterly review meetings.
• All major customers to be maintained with global potential and identified trade lane volumes.
• Active promotion of CMA CGM E Commerce capabilities
• Active understanding of seasonality trends, arranging customer visits accordingly
• Put forward rate proposals to Head Office, based on market conditions and insight.
• Keep all sales and customer service teams (internal and external) up to date with relevant information
• Maintain presence by participating in local professional industry functions
• Develop and solicit accurate market intelligence and convey to management and Head Office
• To handle urgent customer requirements on the day of event – co-ordinating with Liverpool, Head Office and International CMA CGM Agencies
• Highlight where actuals are not meeting budget to the General Manager and relevant Trade Teams, making recommendations for improvement
• Suggestions for developing accurate market intelligence and analysis
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU | KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Excellent knowledge of UK Break Bulk and Out of Gauge sector to support growth of the CMA CGM UK Break Bulk and Out of Gauge volumes
• Extensive experience within a Sales-focused environment within the Shipping Industry, with a focus on both new business development and account management
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to communicat effetively with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
• Confidence in dealing with different types of customers and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Strong negotiation sills
• Excellent knowledge and track record working in the Breakbulk and Out of Gauge sector
• Confident to meet and build customer relationships
• Flexible and repsonsive approach to changing priorities
• Flexibility to travel (this rols has national coverage).
