Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Service Designer. As a vital member of our organization, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and improve services within a federal agency. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide clients utilizing human-centered methods to address organizational and experience challenges.
- Engage with clients and customers to identify pain points and uncover enterprise opportunities.
- Advocate for the customer's perspective, ensuring their needs are incorporated into proposed solutions.
- Leverage research and data to communicate insights and shape mission/program strategy.
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional agile teams, representing stakeholder and user needs.
- Acquire product knowledge and integrate research considerations into technological solutions.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality deliverables across multiple projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, psychology, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in human-centered design, service design, and/or customer experience design.
- US citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity for problem-solving.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks and integration of research and design into sprints.
- Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous experience in project-based environments and/or consulting roles.
- Previous work experience with federal government projects is a plus.
- Strong portfolio showcasing projects in service design, user experience design, or related areas.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- High energy level, self-starter with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when necessary.
