The Opportunity...
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) established in 2023, is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.
For the SZC Project, work on the replication strategy and some early design studies are already underway and being delivered and managed from both France and UK.
As a Building Pilot, you will coordinate engineering activities related to the HF (electrical) building and transferring activities from CNEPE (responsible for the overall design of most the Structures /Systems /Components of the Conventional Island, Balance of Plant and Heat Sink) to EPR-e.

What you’ll be doing...
- Identifying the requirements for all sequences (safety, layout, systems, contracts) on the allocated perimeter and working closely with the sequence team.
- Identifying, scheduling, and launching activities.
- Participating in the identification of resources needed and to workload estimation.
- Receiving, analysing, and verifying the consistency of input data.
- Challenging and verifying the requests for changes issued by the various engineering teams.
- Ensuring the integration of all disciplines within the SZC structures using a 3D model.
- Ensuring deliverables are produced to a good quality and on time.
- Performing technical verifications.
- Piloting engineering activities: Coordinating and providing guidance to the different internal and external contributors, organising regular progress meetings, managing interfaces.
- Ability to verify and approve Quality Related Activities (QRA).
- Creating and maintaining the Design Risk Register.
- Defining the task-order for the next year on scope of work.
- Ensuring good relationships with Clients and managing related contractual activities (Early Warning, Project Work Request, Compensation Events, Technical Queries).
- Providing support in dealing with the non-conformity and adaptation reports issued by the contractor and relaying the modifications to the design office.
- Working closely with the other building groups as well as the contract, PMO and sequence team.
- Working closely with the HPC team to understand the maturity of the design, capture potential DC/OP (Design Changes / Open Points) which may impact SZC project.
Who you are…
Your background may include some of the following:
- General Engineering Degree (MSc) in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical.
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering design sequences.
- Knowledge of several areas of engineering (mechanical, layout, equipment).
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations.
- Piloting of activities.
- Design office experience.
- Willing to evolve in team management.
