Are you a highly skilled Project Manager with a focus on emergency diesel, looking for a rewarding role where you can make a significant impact?

The Opportunity…


As our next Emergency Diesel Generators (EDG) Project Manager, you will be sharing working responsibilities with another Project Manager in this department to ensure the seamless delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities throughout the contract's life cycle. In this pivotal role, you’ll be tasked to support in the planning and execution with unwavering commitment to safety, quality, time, and cost parameters, meeting the Project's dynamic needs.


Reporting directly to a Senior Project Manager, you will work with multiple teams and stakeholders to manage activities for the full life cycle delivery of your assigned contract or work package. Joining forces within the dynamic Diesels Equipment Project Team, you'll collaborate closely with six other Project Managers,. Pay, benefits and culture…


Alongside a competitive salary range of £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience, we’re dedicated to offering flexible benefits that support our people across all aspects of their lives. This role will be based on working within the base office at Bridgewater SDC, our Aztec West (Bristol) office, & Hinkley Point C site 3-4 days a week with flexibility of home working the other 1-2 days. There may also be a requirement to attend other offices/stations on a business need basis.

What you’ll be doing…

 

  • As our next Project Manager for the Emergency Diesel Generators (EDG) Contract, you will spearhead the design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning processes. Your role involves securing essential resources and collaborating with the Senior Project Manager to implement strategic plans aligned with the overall program.
  • You’ll demonstrate your ability in providing effective communication with stakeholders, on-time, and on-budget delivery, and proactive issue resolution are key aspects of your responsibilities. Monitoring program progress, identifying risks, and ensuring contractual fulfilment further define your role in this critical project. Other roles and responsibilities also include:
  • Overseeing end-to-end Project Management of the EDG Contract, covering key phases.
  • Securing necessary resources, ensuring the maintenance of SQEP.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Project Manager to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Drive the safe, timely, and budget-friendly delivery of contract activities.
  • Monitor and manage program progress, tracking milestones and deadlines.
  • Anticipate, manage, and resolve issues within the contract, identifying and addressing risks promptly.
     

Who you are…

 

  • As a professional in complex project management, we’re looking for you to bring a wealth of knowledge in leadership and a strong grasp of various project management tools. Your proficiency in applying estimating, scheduling, programming, risk, and Earned Value Management tools will be essential to deliver the requirements of this project. Possessing excellent presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills, you understand the intricacies of nuclear quality assurance and control. While a degree in engineering or a related field is desirable, your demonstrated experience is equally valued in this role.
  • While a degree in engineering, construction, or a related field is desirable, your demonstrated project management experience in engineering design, contract and field execution strategies, multi-discipline EPCM projects, construction activities, procurement, and management of complex contracts will be paramount in this role.
