Personnel Security Coordinator
Gloucester or Bridgwater. Hybrid with minimum of 3 days a week in the office.

The Opportunity…
Reporting to the Personnel Security Manager, this role is responsible for the provision of National Security Vetting (NSV) and Aftercare for Sizewell C, You will work in a cross-licensee team, and will be expected to ensure that your clearances are processed in line with HMG and ONR regulations. There is a large amount of cross-team working expected, and input into the SZC Onboarding Forum, Vetting Working Group, SZC Panel with OH and HR, and interface with your counterpart on HPC.
This role are provides advice and guidance to the G4S Site Vetting Unit (SVU) and Central Vetting Service (CVS) on BPSS and other clearances, including ONR issued derogations. You will be a point of contact for any other personnel security issues across the project, and maintain good realtionships with stakeholderes across the business.

What you’ll be doing…
- Preparing and leading the Personnel Security Review Panel to ensure pre-employment and re-hire requests are assessed with the appropriate stakeholder input (OH, HR etc.) to make a vetting decision.
- Processing National Security Vetting applications (Initial, Transfer, Renewal and Shares), submitting SZC NSV applications, troubleshooting, and recording NSV decisions.
- Processing Aftercare Incident Reports (AIRs), submitting SZC aftercare incident reports, ensuring that any issues are raised appropriately.
- Ensuring that any aftercare requirements are appropriately tracked and actioned.
- Ensuring any caveats applied to SZC clearances are appropriately actioned.
- Processing LAPEC, BPSS and NSV WIMS vetting decisions.
- Providing guidance, expertise and support to the SZC Site Vetting Unit (SVU), inputting into daily meetings and ensuring issues are raised or addressed in a timely manner.
- Providing guidance and support to the SVU to deliver pre-employment checks and ongoing Personnel Security (Aftercare).
- Providing guidance, expertise and support to the SZC Central Vetting Service (CVS), inputting into daily meetings and ensuring issues are raised or addressed in a timely manner.
- Providing Personnel Security advice for any changes to WIMS, ensuring that consultation has taken place with the right stakeholders before changes are enacted.
- Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Accountable Officer.
- Reconciling monthly Disclosure & Barring Service and Credence invoices, liaising with Commercial and Supply Chain teams as required to ensure payment is made.
- Providing Personnel Security subject matter expert advice to SZC site on all Personnel Security matters.
- Supporting Personnel Security activities for SZC FID and readiness for Nuclear Site Licensing.
- Providing knowledge sharing and engages with the wider Nuclear Services Personnel Security supervisory team.
Who you are…
Your background may include some of the following:
- Previous reputable security experience (armed forces, police or similar civilian environment including the civil nuclear industry).
- Exemplary stakeholder management skills – proven ability to influence and inform.
- Strong computer literacy and numeracy.
- Proven collaboration attitude and ability to drive projects forward with multiple stakeholders.
- Good understanding and practical experience of managing vetting in the nuclear space.
- Knowledge and experience in providing personnel security guidance.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate vetting requirements to a wide audience.
- Proven experience of managing National Security Vetting, and an understanding of how NSV and BPSS operate in the nuclear environment is advantageous.
Please note: the successful candidate must be able to obtain SC vetting.
