Technical Issue Resolution Process Manager

If so, join us as an Technical Issue Resolution Process Manager and you’ll join one of the most exciting and ambitious projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.


The Opportunity...


At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.


EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) established in 2023, oversees the design (basic design) and the realisation (studies, procurement, erection, testing and commissioning) of nuclear islands for new projects.


EPR-E is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.


As an Open Points/ Technical Issue Resolution Process Manager, you will be responsible for the Open Points process and associated tools and your implementation within the project.

What you’ll be doing…

 

  • Managing OP, applying the project instruction and updating of the INS-UKEPR-359
  • Managing the OPM IT tool for Open Points.
  • Identifying project critical Open Points and escalating to the right management level.
  • Supporting engineering entities in all phases of Open Points resolution.
  • Chairing the weekly L2 OP coordination.
  • Facilitatingf "Clarification Meetings" between technical entities.
  • Developing and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) of the process.
  • Reporting to the Technical Management of the HPC Project governance.
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of the OP process.
  • Enhancing monitoring of L1 Open Points.
  • Managing OP stakeholders (coordinators) and organising workshops.
  • Operational management of the OPM administrator


Who you are…


Your background may include some of the following:

 

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in engineering / leadership / project management.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear New Build, EPR or PWR and engineering processes.
  • Project and delivery management experience.
  • Understanding of requirements and expectations of UK laws, regulations, nuclear industry and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and people engagement skills.
