Technical Project Coordinator


Gloucester Business Park, with regular travel required to Aztec West, Bristol. Hybrid with 2/3 days per week in the office.

The Opportunity…


The Hinkley Point C Design Authority (DA) is responsible for developing and maintaining HPC’s Safety Case to support EDF’s ambitions of fuel to site.


We are looking for a Technical Project Coordinator, to provide the lead role in ensuring the detailed studies and the summarising safety case are delivered to time and to budget whilst ensuring due diligence is maintained, across all safety analysis technical disciplines.


As the Technical Project Coordinator, you will be involved in the coordination and delivery oversight of the studies performed by the HPC’s supporting organisations covering:

 

  • The Responsible Designer (RD) corresponding to EDF’s Edvance, CNEPE and EPRE organisations.
  • EDF’s Nuclear Services Organisation.
  • Supply Chain Partners.
  • You will be working closely with the safety case engineers as well as the commercial parts of our organisation to ensure the safety analysis requirements are defined, financed, resourced and ultimately delivered.

What you’ll be doing…

 

  • Delivery management of Safety Analysis activities by HPC’s supporting organisations:
  • Overseeing the List of Deliverables and activities schedule to support project needs ensuring appropriate governance standards are maintained for the technical scope.
  • Supporting HPC Analysis and Safety Case Leads/ Officers to drive delivery and identify/promote schedule compliance and resource requirement definition.
  • Contributing to the development of the annual and future safety analysis programme and the financial provision for the delivery.
  • Control and coordination of the safety analysis technical and programme risks identifying mitigation plans and solutions where required.
     

Contract, risks and cost management:

 

  • Managing contractual variations to the scope as required by the project.
  • Managing contractual Early Warnings and associated Risk Reduction Meetings.
  • Managing the Project Work Requests (PWR) and Project Change Requests (PCR) for additional activities to be performed by the RD and helping in the review of the associated quotations.
     

Scope transition from Responsible Designer to HPC Design Authority and HPC Nuclear Services:

 

  • Steering the scope transition process (Kick-Off meetings / Package Review meetings / Closure meetings) across the safety analysis technical disciplines.
  • Project Managing the scope transition schedule agreed for each safety analysis technical discipline with support from the Scope transition sponsor when necessary.

  • Degree in science or engineering subject.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and processes.
  • Good management and organisational skills.
  • Capacity to be pragmatic and practical in the way that technical issues are addressed.
  • Good communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders both in France and the UK.
  • Good ability to work autonomously.
  • Knowledge of contractual management would be an asset.
  • Experience with the Nuclear industry.
