Open Points Manager

The Opportunity...
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) established in 2023, oversees the design (basic design) and the realisation (studies, procurement, erection, testing and commissioning) of nuclear islands for new projects.
EPR-E is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.
As an Open Points Manager, you will be responsible for the Open Points process and associated tools and your implementation within the project.

What you’ll be doing…
- Managing all Design Open Points (OP) for HPC project, following project guidelines and updating documentation as needed.
- Overseeing the administration of OP management tool.
- Identifying and escalating critical Open Points to appropriate management.
- Supporting engineering teams throughout Open Points resolution.
- Leading weekly senior OP coordination meetings.
- Facilitating "Clarification Meetings" between technical teams.
- Developing and tracking performance indicators for the OP process.
- Reporting to Technical Management on HPC Project governance matters.
- Enhancing OP monitoring and contributing to continuous process improvement.
- Coordinating workshops and manage stakeholders involved in OP resolution.
Who you are…
Your background may include some of the following:
- Engineering Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- At least 5 years’ experience in engineering / leadership / project management.
- Knowledge of Nuclear New Build, EPR or PWR and engineering processes.
- Project and delivery management experience.
- Understanding of requirements and expectations of UK regulations, nuclear industry and best practices.
