The department is an integral part of product development, from looking at the materials used to the testing of full-scale blades. The purpose of the department is not only to work towards the certification of the products but also to increase the certainty of growth in what is becoming a very dynamic market.

 

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Lead Test Engineer to join some of the most complex projects in the industry. If you have a similar testing background and want to work towards an evolving future in the world of blade testing as the market leader, then you should be applying.

This role will cover two main areas: first, the design and development of test equipment; and second, the execution of tests to support the project requirements.

Test Equipment Development: Working alongside the Test Engineers you will be responsible for developing test equipment that will support the validation of the new blade designs. This will involve the design of the test equipment and potentially the substructures (composite) themselves.

Test Execution: You will be responsible for following the processes required to fully execute the required tests according to the various project scopes.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing technical specifications, dynamic calculations and review equipment requirements

  • Specify test rig control and hydraulic systems, including data acquisition requirements

  • Work within development projects supporting the verification process

  • Participating in peer reviews and technical reviews, where necessary

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar

  • Experienced in using CAD software

  • Experienced in the use of Finite analysis tools such as Ansys

  • Able to work with design standards and familiar with steel structures

  • Experience in mechanical testing would be advantageous, as would knowledge of composites

  • High level of safety awareness

  • Good attention to detail with a methodical and flexible approach
