Job Descrption

Position Summary

Plans, coordinates, and directs a quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established quality standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and direct reports.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability. Through his staff provides quality training for both hourly and salaried employees on blueprint reading and quality standards.
  • Investigates, develops and implements corrective action to resolve customer complaints regarding quality. Ensures quick response to customer complaints and permanent corrective actions.
  • Champion and support the layered audit process and any required corrective actions
  • Ensures all customer requirements are met including quality, delivery and new launch timing
  • Monitors and manages new programs, quality,  safety, maintenance,
  • Guides, coordinates and directs the functional areas to comply with requirements of the necessary standards (IATF16949/ISO14001) to maintain certification.
  • Coordinates/facilitates continuous improvement in system compliance, product quality, cost of quality, customer satisfaction etc.
  • Coordinate customer and supplier visits on an as needed basis.
  • Prepare quality procedures and processes and evaluate their effectiveness through ongoing quality audits
  • Maintain a positive relationships with our customers.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-7 Years Management Experience in a fast paced environment.
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering
  • CQE Certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills - to deal effectively with employees, management and external customers.
  • Computer skills with and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
