Position Summary: Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and piping/electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments:
- Visually inspects machinery and support equipment prior to use
- Test machinery and supporting equipment after repair and prior to use
- Troubleshoots inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment to detect root cause
- Listens for unusual sounds
- Feels for unusual vibration
- Communicates with users regarding variation specifics
- Dismantles inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment, installs new or repaired parts and reassembles the machinery or supporting equipment
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of the machinery and supporting equipment as part of the Preventative Maintenance Program
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus (transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components) of machinery and supporting equipment
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains piping systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
- Repairs and maintains physical structure(s) of the establishment
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as a lathe, grinder, drill and milling machinery to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.
