Project Planner
Battery Energy Storage is growing rapidly in the United Kingdom and Europe, so we are looking for a Project Planner to work on Energy Storage projects within our Project management organisation. As a Project Planner you will be part of a project execution team in the dynamic and growing area of the energy business that is the energy storage sector. You will be on the very front line in the journey towards a future of 100% renewable energy.
This can be a hybrid position, working from home or a local office, while based in one of our offices in UK or Finland.
The person we are looking for has extensive experience of project planning tools and techniques, as well as of leading project teams in the schedule management process. A background in the energy sector, and particularly storage sector, is seen as an advantage, as well as a good understanding of project delivery organizations, and the different facets of delivering successful customer delivery projects in a business that is evolving.
As a Project Planner you are an excellent communicator and a person who can involve all stakeholders in the schedule management process, as well as being able to communicate the schedule in a practical and relatable manner, both internally and externally. You are proactive in your work, with a positive and goal-oriented mindset. You are decisive and embrace challenges as ways to improve yourself and your team.
Main responsibilities:
- Accountable for developing and maintaining a project specific Schedule Management System based on project specific requirements, outlining all work to be performed, its sequence and duration.
- Together with the project manager, accountable for getting all relevant project stakeholders engaged in planning and scheduling, as well as continuously interfacing with stakeholders and communicating the schedule in order to direct future project works. Propose alternative ways of conducting works and recovery actions if needed while modifying the schedule accordingly.
- Accountable for facilitating project manager and project organisation decision making by providing timely and reliable information regarding project performance as well as suggestions regarding future activities.
- Reporting to the Project Manager and the General Manager
- Partaking in schedule management methods development
- Represent the Project Team on scheduling matters
- Participate customer meetings and negotiations.
- Apply Project Management best practices
- Support UK and EU Energy storage project sales opportunities
Requirements/Desired Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering (or similar)
- Planning/Scheduling experience (minimum 3 years)
- Experience in project or site management
- Strong understanding of scheduling, planning, and time management
- Working knowledge of scheduling software (Primavera 6 and/or MS Project)
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
