About the Role:

In your role as the Tax and Customs Manager for Ferrero UK & Ireland, you will be accountable for ensuring specific tax and customs compliance while also contributing to tax and customs optimisation for the region. This involves monitoring tax and customs laws, assessing their relevance and impact on Ferrero, and managing associated claims and litigation to minimise costs. You will also be tasked with implementing tax, customs, and insurance policies. Additionally, you will provide support to the wider team in areas such as corporate income taxes, international and EU tax regulations, transfer pricing, tax strategy, indirect taxation (with a focus on VAT matters), and customs and duty guidance.

Main Responsibilities:

In the role of Tax and Customs Manager for the UK&I, you will have main responsibilities encompassing various areas.

Tax Risk Management involves collaborating with different departments to identify and mitigate emerging tax risks from their activities. This includes pinpointing uncertain tax positions at the local level and monitoring legislative changes impacting the business from a tax risk management perspective. Analysing the consequences of new tax regulations, you will recommend actions to management, ensuring the implementation of proper Tax Control Framework in alignment with the Group Tax Policy.

In Tax Advisory, your role extends to managing international tax matters or projects, transfer pricing, and relevant domestic tax matters. Working closely with the Area Tax and the Region CFO, you will detect and manage tax risks and opportunities efficiently. Supporting the Group/Area Tax in defining tax strategy and operations based on tax implications of various activities, projects, and investments, you will help minimize the Ferrero Group tax burden within current tax rules. Additionally, you will manage relationships with local tax authorities and advisors.

Tax Compliance and Reporting require ensuring tax compliance, including filing tax returns and adhering to the Group TP strategy at the regional level. Managing tax reporting requirements, tax forecasts, deferred tax calculations, and local subsidiary statutory reporting are integral to this role. You will also handle tax enquiries, audits, and litigations in alignment with the Group/Area Tax.

In Customs, you will support departments responsible for customs compliance activities and analyse changes in local customs regulations. Collaborating with the Group Customs Department, you will assess customs implications and opportunities relevant to projects, investments, and other ventures. Ensuring coordination with Group Customs in case of challenges by authorities and acting as the focal point during customs audits are part of your responsibilities, aligned with the Group Customs policy.

You will be accountable for managing assigned personnel, ensuring a management system based on Group values, motivation, diversity, equity & inclusion, competence development, and empowerment. Promoting effective communication through line managers to the teams, you will recruit, manage, motivate, coach, and develop your team, guaranteeing their professional development through evaluation and proposed initiatives.

Who we are looking for:

Ferrero is seeking applicants with diverse backgrounds and skill sets to join their team. They value candidates who have relevant working experience gained from well-known consulting firms and multinational enterprises. Additionally, having a strong understanding of international tax is crucial as well as local UK & I knowledge, especially considering Ireland's involvement in significant transactions with Luxembourg Holding Companies, such as dividends, royalties, and interests.

Experience working within a general accounting position is highly desirable, as it provides insight into day-to-day accounting operations. Candidates should also possess good knowledge of Tax Risk Management, including familiarity with tax management systems and risk mapping.

A proactive attitude is key at Ferrero, with the company valuing individuals who are always seeking new opportunities. Furthermore, strong managerial and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role, as candidates will be expected to collaborate effectively with colleagues and lead teams towards achieving common goals.

How to be successful in the role and at Ferrero:
