Your Role:
The Associate Quality Control Chemist at MilliporeSigma in Sheboygan Falls, WI will perform routine assignments using existing procedures and evaluate products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Hours: Wed - Sat, 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM
Physical Attributes:
Wear appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal protection equipment “PPE” to protect from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particles
View computer monitors for long periods of time
Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch or crawl for long periods of time while performing the duties of this job
Lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted - may need to lift more than 50 pounds with assistance
Use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and have the ability to adjust focus
Use phones, computers, computer monitors and all office/laboratory equipment
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or other life science discipline
OR
High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year of experience for each full year of education in a life science discipline, chemical production or laboratory environment
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in chemistry, biochemistry, or other life science discipline
Familiarity with laboratory instruments and production equipment
Independent chemistry lab research experience
Experience with process and analytical techniques, equipment and unit operations
Safe chemical handling methods
Strong oral and written communication skills
Compute chemical calculations and conversions
