Job Description
The role is for a commercial lead reporting directly to the Commercial Director on a live project located on Dumballs road, Cardiff.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will make an immediate impact from day 1, and will utilize your previous experience in surveying and costing a range of jobs which contribute to the £120m annual turnover of an actively expanding part of our business. Day to day responsibilities within this role will include:
- Producing valuations and payment applications
- Procurement of the remaining packages
- Surveying projects and providing accurate pricing to ensure that works are carried out within budget and we can meet our timeframe commitments
- Identifying changes to works information and costing variations
- Cost reporting
- Subcontract account management
- Submit Extension of time / Loss and Expense claims where required
- You will have an assistant QS on site to aid you with day to day tasks, this will also help expand your leadership skills as you prepare them to further their skill set to become a fully qualified QS.
Qualifications
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar commercial related course
- Professional qualification MRICS or MCIOB desirable
- Good data interrogation skills
- Line Management experience
- Commercial Awareness with good legal/contractual knowledge and experience
- Experience of Management accounts
- Proficient in Microsoft office particularly Excel, Access and keen to extend knowledge on software packages
- Commercial contracting experience
- Re-measurement skills
- Previous experience in construction or similar sector
- Valid driving licence
- CSCS card at appropriate level
- Take responsibility for own development
