This role sits within British Communcations and will be based at our new offcies in Lingley Mere 

Job Description

Purpose

To manage and coordinate the compilation of utility drawings, high risk asset information, works scope documents and the ZOI process working towards the successful, safe, and timely delivery of the FTTP project.

To ensure the planned works job packs are up to date with the most recent utility asset maps, latest design drawings, work scope and any other relevant documentation and is effectively communicated into the GBC project team.

To provide clear guidance on the process of planned works that fall within areas containing high risk assets (Hot jobs).
To support the project coordinators/site engineers with latest up to date status of hot jobs. To manage and maintain internal trackers and reports.

To provide support to the wider GBC project team and other key stakeholders.
 

Specific Duties

  • Responsible for prioritising works from a list of Civils task that require safe dig prints.
  • Submitting enquiries to Hazardous Asset owners and taking ownership of coordinating with all affected parties to arrange safe methods of working for the gangs and permissions for our telecom works to take place around Hazardous assets with governance and safety guidelines.
  • Manage tasks associated with preventing damage to hazardous pipelines.
  • Use and clearly understand Engineering Drawings including A55’s.
  • Reading job packs and identifying correct locations for works required. Scanning the underground utility services drawings in order to prevent hazardous events including utility strikes, service damage and accidents. Re-laying the correct information to the site engineers.
  • Running Line search before you dig prints and other necessary prints required. Contacting the relevant utility owners where required.
  • Identifying if a job falls within a Zone of Interest and escalating it correctly to the relevant asset owner/ responsible person
  • Signing off jobs that do not fall within a Zone of Interest to enable civils work to be planned
  • Arranging Asset Owner Supervisions.
  • Preparing Correct Job Packs for Engineers.
  • Updating trackers.
  • Working closely with the GBC project team
  • Adhere to all relevant company policies and procedures especially health and safety policies.
  • Any other duties assigned to support the GBC project team

  • Experience of working in the Telecommunications in similar role
  • Clear understanding of utility drawings and identifying hazardous pipelines

Additional Information:

  • Must be highly computer literate including Microsoft Office and confident in managing and working with large data sets
  • This job is a full-time permanent role, 8am-5pm Monday to Friday from our Widnes Office
