MAJOR DUTIES:
Responsible for coordinating, supporting and maintaining health, safety and environmental (HSE) programs at Life Sciences Cambridge Division. Acts as an internal technical and administrative resource to provide team member training, support, and communications for divisional HSE committees and programs, and maintenance of divisional data systems for legislative and corporate HSE requirements. Supports efforts to maintain and promote divisional HSE ABM, Sustainability and Safety Culture program initiatives.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support divisional HSE Program requirements for legislative and corporate HSE standards compliance, project HSE requirements, and HSE continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions, and mitigate hazardous conditions at the division.
• Participate and support incident investigations to identify causal factors and prevent their recurrence.
• Support divisional Joint Health and Safety Committee program activities for training, communications, workplace inspections and monthly meetings.
• Maintain HSE corrective action documentation and support the resolution process.
• Support HSE training requirements, including delivery of HSE technical sessions, evaluations, attendance records, and training vendor management.
• Support divisional requirements for pandemic controls and team member compliance.
• Maintain divisional VelocityEHS system findings and corrective actions for incident and near miss reporting, safety observations, planned inspections and audits.
• Participate in and support divisional ABM, 5S and DVM activities related to HSE program initiatives.
• Maintain and support emergency preparedness procedures, documentation, emergency response team committee activities and communication requirements.
• Support requirements for ergonomic assessments, equipment specification and procurement, and ergonomic prevention training.
• Evaluate divisional chemical hazards and provide technical support for safe work instructions, PPE, materials SDS databases, SDS binders, container labelling and safe storage per legislative and corporate requirements.
• Coordinate divisional hazardous waste storage, labelling, inventory tracking and disposal in accordance with legislative and corporate HSE requirements.
• Conduct waste diversion activities and annual waste diversion audits in accordance with legislative and corporate HSE requirements. Report divisional quarterly diversion and landfill data.
• Maintain divisional emergency preparedness equipment including first aid rooms and stations, AEDs and trauma bags, and certified first responder listings.
• Coordinate communication and vendor management of divisional Shop Floor PPE program.
• Support divisional health initiatives including industrial hygiene program requirements, health and wellness clinics, and healthy lifestyle activities as required.
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• College degree in an occupational health and safety related field and greater than two years of directly related experience in manufacturing and occupational health and safety.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, programs and technical principles of occupational health and safety.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
• Attend all required health, safety and environmental training
• Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
• Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
• Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
