The role
As a Weapons Technician / Armament Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Weapons Technician / Armament Supervisor is responsible to the Seat Bay Senior Supervisor for safe, compliant and effective Ejection Seat Bay maintenance activities, role bay maintenance and AMRO ejection seat removal/installation in support of Hawk operations at RAF Valley.
Day to day, you’ll ensure that all Ejection Seat tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner, on time and to the highest standard, as well as:
Check that all equipment required for tasking is available and reporting all deficiencies
Maintain and prepare explosively operated equipment and pyrotechnics
Monitor the work carried out by employees under his/her control to ensure that they conform to current regulations and that documentation is promptly and accurately completed. And monitoring the handling, distribution, and satisfaction of engineering instructions (MODs, RTI’s, UTI’s STIs, Sis, IEDB’s etc.)
Assist with the management of Staff Performance & Development. Ensuring only suitably trained, qualified and authorised personnel are used to complete work employing external suppliers.
This role is Full time and based onsite at RAF Valley.
Experience of the Weapons Technician / Armament Supervisor:
Relevant current industry experience on ejection seats maintenance or a Completed a Martin Baker type ejection seat course
Experience of working with AAES in a bay maintenance environment. And maintaining and arming/disarming of explosively operated equipment and pyrotechnics
Training in relevant discipline Mechanical/Electrical to City and Guilds Level or level 3 equivalent (completed an apprenticeship)
Working knowledge and use of IT Operating Systems (MS Office Suite) and the Internet.
Qualifications for the Weapons Technician / Armament Supervisor:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance for this role.
