The role
As a Section Leader you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working within the Support Business in the delivery of complex deep maintenance periods for the Royal Navy’s Frigates. This role is part of a new capability providing improved material understanding of vessel condition and contributing to improved availability of vessels for the Royal Navy.
Day to day, you’ll maintain Auxiliary systems and equipment, as well as:
- Manage a small team of technicians.
- Operate and Set to Work equipment and systems within the section.
- Identify and rectify defects.
- Accept equipment from contractors ensuring that all contracted work is complete to the required standard.
This role is full time and based onsite at Devonport.
Essential experience of the Section Leader:
- You will be a qualified engineering technician with experience working on marine systems i.e. High pressure air, water systems and using test equipment and the ability to generate defect reports and populate information into a maintenance management system.
- You will have good engineering standards, a proactive attitude and be agile and adaptable.
- Previous experience as an RN Engineering Technician is desirable however this is not a requirement and all candidates with an applicable background will be considered.
Qualifications for the Section Leader:
- HNC/ONC qualified or equivalent in an engineering specialisation with significant demonstrable experience
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
