The role
As a Senior Project Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a unique opportunity to work within a fast-paced nuclear environment. This role will see you working alongside and supporting Project Managers, to deliver defence projects critical to the continual at sea deterrent.
Day to day, you’ll be providing a project controls function in support of nuclear infrastructure upgrades within the DRDL that are critical to the submarine programmes moving forward.
Opportunities to develop your understanding of the wider business which will in turn allow additional responsibilities including but not limited to managing teams and deputising for management.
- You will be responsible for the alignment and integration of cost to the companies scheduling software (Primavera P6)
- Developing of a robust project control reporting process, capturing schedule, cost, risk, change & performance.
- Supporting setting agreed budgets (linkage/validation to estimate) and the control of forecast and actual costs against that budget. Use of tolerances and performance management.
- Supporting the development of governance documentation such as Project Control Plans, Schedule Management Plans, Change Management Plans etc.
- Managing the monthly planning process with viability of the Level 1/2 plans in line with the Level 3 schedules across a programme / multiple projects.
This role is full time, 36 hours based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Project Controller:
- Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 Professional.
- Have experience within an engineering industry is beneficial.
- Previous experience utilising planning status reports.
- Have awareness of project management principles – Desirable.
- Proficient in the use of Power BI – Desirable.
Qualifications for the Senior Project Controller:
- Ideally qualified to APM PPC / PMQ or equivalent experience
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
