The role
As the Chief Engineer – Communication Systems, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As a senior member of the engineering discipline, collaboration and working in partnership comes naturally. You are someone who owns and delivers, who champions high performance and is courageous to challenge the status quo when we need to do better.
Day to day, you will be porting to the Head of Technology Delivery and working alongside the Focus Area Lead, you will be providing technical leadership, independent technical oversight and subject matter expertise to the Strategic Communications engineering teams to develop new, and support in-service, Radio and Satellite Communications systems for Defence customers in the UK and overseas

This role is a full-time, permanent position 37hours per week and can be based at various sites, including Bristol OR Plymouth OR Tewkesbury OR Harrogate OR Cumbria. The successful candidate can work from any of the mentioned Babcock sites 1-2 days per week with hybrid working from home arrangements.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC and potentially Developed Vetting security clearance for this role.
