The role
As a Programme Support Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The IWE (in water engineer) programme is now well-established and is underpinned by a fully endorsed strategy and senior buy-in. The role of the Central Programme Team (IWE CPT) is to lead, shape and govern the programme across the submarine enterprise and ensure a ‘One Babcock’ approach is maintained to best support the SDA and the MOD.
Day to day, you’ll play a key role in in driving forward a key waterfront capability that has much senior focus. It also offers a rare opportunity to gain experience in managing a well-founded transformation programme and in getting to grips with innovation, capability development and capability delivery challenges working to an experienced programme director.
- Support the development and maintenance of IWE programme artefacts
- Maintain and update the programme high level plan
- Maintain and develop reporting on Benefits Realisation
- Assist and support SMEs develop innovation and capability development and delivery plans and roadmaps
- Project manage allocated IWE projects
- Develop and maintain the IWE capability sharesite, working with capability leads across the business
This role is full time at 36 hours with a hybrid arrangement and flexible working and will be based at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Programme Support Manager:
- Good understanding of project management, tools and techniques
- Experience in benefits realisation
- Able to effectively collaborate
- Ability to implement change
Qualifications for the Programme Support Manager:
- APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
- APM Project Risk Management - Level 2
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
