The role
As Shift Manager Authorised Person in Control, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The department is very busy with support to maintenance across the large private networks installed at the Devonport site. There are challenges around some of the ageing infrastructure which drives fault finding and repairs support requirements and there is also extensive support required for the investment projects renewing the HV site infrastructure.
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for the HV networks at Devonport managing the central control room and the HV operational staff supporting the operation of the networks.
- Responsible for the operation, monitoring and control of all HV electrical systems within Devonport Royal Dockyard as the Authorised Person in Control.
- Responsibility for the management of the control room, field HV Authorised Persons and the control room team.
- Ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of plant and systems under control of the SMAPC.
- The issue of safety documentation to cover all switching, commissioning, testing and maintenance for plant and equipment under your control.
- This is a nuclear implicated role required to ensure that the HV networks on the Devonport site are operated correctly in order to maintain business continuity and ensure nuclear safety.
This role is full time, 36 hours based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Shift Manager Authorised Person in Control:
- Experience in the safe operation and maintenance of High and Low voltage equipment.
- Experience as a HV Authorised Person.
Qualifications for the Shift Manager Authorised Person in Control:
- Minimum of ONC (level 3) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
