The role
As a General Maintenance Assistant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Babcock is a trusted provider of integrated solutions for global defence and security. We have a wide portfolio of best-in-class intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance solutions, communications, and weapons launch and handling solutions across all domains, integrating the best of industry to meet our customers’ needs.
Day to day, you’ll clean domestic and technical installations, equipment and site vehicles, as well as:
- The maintenance of domestic water and drainage systems.
- Order materials to maintain cost effective stock levels.
- General labouring and porterage including receipt, packing and dispatch of goods.
- Maintain technical and administration records and provide information as required.
This role is full time and based onsite at Skelton.
Essential experience of the General Maintenance Assistant:
- A comprehensive knowledge of current safe working practices and safety procedures
- 1-2 years’ experience of general building maintenance and cleaning techniques.
- Basic Computer skills including email, Word and spreadsheets.
Qualifications for the General Maintenance Assistant:
- Possession of a current full UK driving licence.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve DV security clearance for this role.
