The role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be part of the core team delivering engineering services that include analysis, technical investigations and design change support.
Day-to-day, your focus will be planning and executing tasks across a wide variety of submarine systems providing opportunity to learn lots about the enterprise and mechanical engineering.
- Undertaking technical investigations and producing reports of findings as well as executing engineering analysis to solve complex engineering problems
- Apply engineering knowledge to produce technical solutions and documentation in support of assigned tasks and projects
- Undertake project management activities (bidding, planning, delivery and monitoring) for assigned tasks and projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to time, quality and cost
- Liaise with our customers and stakeholders to present and discuss solutions and outcomes
- Keep up to date in relevant technical areas and develop skills and capabilities to be able to provide effective delivery
- Support less experienced team members to support both their effective working, and their development
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Engineer:
- Background in Mechanical Engineering
- Previous submarine knowledge and experience working with submarine systems is highly desirable.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer:
- Degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, equivalent vocations qualification or have relevant submarine domain engineering background.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
