Salary & Benefits(3a/b): £65,000 - £75,000 + company car scheme or car allowance + private healthcare + up to 10% pension with 5% contribution + annual bonus + retail savings schemes + online GP access + life assurance cover + free on-site parking + 25 days holiday + 1 wellbeing day + bank holidays

 

 

Location: Buttershaw, Bradford, hybrid working 2 days in the office per week

 

 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday

 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Alliance Commercial Manager to join the Programme Delivery Commercial Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Our team is responsible for sourcing and managing all of our contracted supplier relationships and supplier performance. This includes procurement, contract management, commercial assurance and accounts payable. The Programme Delivery Commercial team form an internal partnership to support the delivery of the capital programme, providing contract management and commercial support.

 

The AMP8 Storm Overflow Alliance is a true Alliance focussed on delivering value through engaging in and developing a high performing Enterprise. If successful this will enable Yorkshire Water to expand its Alliance portfolio.

 

 

Purpose of the role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to form and lead a commercial management and assurance team for the AMP8 Storm Overflow Alliance. The team will be focused on commercial management of the NEC4 Alliance Contract for Yorkshire Water’s Capital Programme. This role will also be expected to input to the Alliance Board on key decisions and support the Alliance Manager in administration of the Alliance Contract.

 

 

Where you fit in:

As our Alliance Commercial Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing the Alliance Contract Strategy
  • Assurance of Alliance costs (Client and Partner)
  • Scope and Application of the Commercial Audit
  • Cost Planning, Benchmarking and Assurance
  • Supply Chain Management and Procurement Support
  • Scheme (Contract) Drafting
  • Scheme (Contract) Review
  • Alliance Contract Administration and Assurance
  • Contract Change Management

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversight of Alliance Commercial Team
  • Form the Alliance Commercial Team
  • Implement Alliance Commercial Practices to Yorkshire Water
  • Manage efficient Scheme (Contract) Award to the Alliance
  • Mobilise the Alliance Partners efficiently
  • Advise the Alliance Manager of areas of value leakage
  • Develop and implement plans to retain value and outperformance within the Alliance
  • Develop cross-organisational commercial team and capability within Alliance
  • Develop commercial behaviours within the team that are suited to a multi-party cost reimbursable contract environment

 

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor with significant industrial experience
  • Experience in Water / Utilities (or wider infrastructure sector)
  • Familiar with the NEC suite of contracts and contract management practices, procedures and systems

 

 

 You will also benefit from having:

 

  • A professional qualification such as being a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS or MCICES)
  • Experience working within an Alliance environment would be desirable
  • Experience in Supplier Relationship Management

 

 

We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of two days in the office per week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
